Circus animal ban call
By Karen Devlin
Where the wild things shouldn't be
An online petition has been launched calling for a ban on the use of wild animals in circuses in Northern Ireland.
The petition, which was created by the Northern Ireland Green Party led by Steven Agnew, wants the Assembly to bring in laws which will “ban circuses which use animals for entertainment purposes staging shows in Northern Ireland.”
Right now there is no law that stops shows coming to Northern Ireland that use wild animals like tigers, lions and elephants. The petition currently has over 270 people supporting it on the petition’s
Facebook group and will be running until September.
But before you do that, tell us what you think about circuses using animals here on WIMPS.tv
