Better Bus Service Needed for Claudy
A group of young people in Claudy have banded together to start a campaign to have a better bus service.
“We feel that Translink have forgotten about us. The bus service is not good enough and we cannot get in or out of Claudy after 18:10!
“We cannot afford a taxi service and believe that we should be allowed to board the Goldline service in order to do social activities that other people in urban areas can do easily.”
Poor public transport services in rural areas hit young people more than most. They can’t get around to see friends or even do something as simple as going to the cinema.
They plan to take up the issue with both local councillors and Translink. But they need support.
